Do you find yourself critical of everything?

May 11, 2018

Let me ask you, would you like to attract more of what you don’t want? No, I didn’t think so. Have you created a pattern of complaining? Complaining is an affirmation of the opposite of what you want. The brain loves patterns and will wire your thought process to look for the bad in everything if you choose the path of complaining. For instance, you come home from work, walk in the door look at your partner and say, “I hate my job, it’s unfulfilling, and I don’t like my boss.” The news is on, and you say, “My goodness what is wrong with people, there is so much bad in the world!” If the conversation stays on this path, you will continue to attract more negativity, and unhappiness into your life. Studies show that complaining raises your cortisol level, the hormone that causes stress.

The next time you start to complain live mindfully aware and think of what you would like to experience, what you desire, and if it feels real for you, invite a sense of gratitude into your thoughts in the present moment. Consistency is critical; it will take practice, and living in awareness to catch yourself. Challenge yourself to change from complaining to appreciation, and you will feel a shift in what you see and experience in life for the better.
