Give Yourself a Break

This week I want to lovingly and compassionately remind you one of the best gifts you can give yourself is to accept all of the emotions that you feel as real. No one can tell you not to feel something nor can you miraculously make them go away. Living mindfully means living from a perspective of observing your emotions, giving yourself permission to experience and process.

Any emotion and thought that creates dis-ease need to be looked at and processed so they can be released. If we suppress or ignore these strong emotions and thoughts, they have nowhere to go but deep within our mental, emotional and physical state of being. That is why it is vitally important that you allow yourself to feel them, accept them in the present moment and lovingly nurture them like you would nurture a sick child or an injured animal. Most of the time, the emotion will subside relatively with ease, other times they may need more caring and nurturing. Promise yourself you will honor that feeling for as long as it takes.

It is this unconditional love we all desire and only we can give to ourselves. In doing so, we create a happier, healthier and more harmonious version of self.
