Greet the New Year with Mindfulness

Too often we start out a new year with statements like, “Why set New Years’ resolutions? No one ever sticks to them, why am I bothering?” Perhaps you have chosen resolutions, yet in the back of your mind, you’re thinking, “If I can’t swing it, I’ll just stop, these things don’t work.”

Instead, why not greet the new year with a commitment to allow every moment to stand on its own free of programming and belief. Challenge yourself to look at each moment as an opportunity to expand awareness and consciously make this choice. Notice when you are accepting a belief and bring an old mindset to a current situation. There is a fine line between wisdom we have learned and past beliefs and programming. Encourage yourself to use discernment and check in with Self free of judgment. Ask yourself, “What am I feeling, thinking and then doing at this moment in time.”
