Harness the Power of your Thoughts

Do you ever find yourself worrying about an upcoming situation? For example, do you catch yourself saying after you sneeze, “Oh no, am I starting to catch a cold? I can’t get sick over the holidays!” or as your child walks out the door to face their finals, “I hope they do well on their test today, they will be so sad if they don’t.” Thoughts like these fill the moment with worry and dread.

I believe that it takes considerable effort to live mindfully aware of what we are thinking at any given moment and then consciously choose to change that thought. Though I know, it is doable.  All thoughts are your choice. You must deliberately choose what you want to feel emotionally and mentally. In the above examples, as these worry-oriented thoughts come to your mind let them slide by, don’t attach any emotional energy to them and make it your number one priority to foster positive thoughts. There are many ways to cultivate this mindset, the point I want to make here is you must choose to do it!

Living aware of when you are dwelling on what you don’t want to experience is the power you hold to change that thought to what you desire to experience. It is all about your choice.
