Mirror Meditation for Self-Compassion

Today’s Mindful Moment:

I want you to take a moment to imagine yourself in the mirror.

Look at yourself as you would look at a dear friend whom you have known your entire life. Feel the love and respect you feel towards them. Feel your kindness, compassion, and understanding for them, regardless of life circumstances.

Feel the empathy as you feel their heartache and pain, but can you encourage them to persevere and take a moment to celebrate their accomplishments and the wisdom they have acquired due to life experiences?

This week I want you to cultivate this love and kind relationship with that person in the mirror. Notice with curiosity and non-judgment if it is easy or difficult to do. Explore how you can encourage yourself to show self-compassion, kindness, and love towards yourself.

Remember, you are much bigger than the worst thing you have done. You should not be critical and harsh to someone you care for and love.
