The Importance of Doing & Being

In this week’s Mindful Moment, I encourage you to ask yourself, did I establish a healthy balance between doing and being this past year?

Everyday life can get in the way of our time spent just being. For instance, I make sure that I take time for myself early in the morning every day to meditate and be still with my emotions and thoughts. I am a big fan of allowing my thoughts to free flow on paper for about 15 minutes after I meditate.

When weather permits, I also walk in the woods near my house.

My being practice is just as important as my doing each day.

I gain clarity when I allow space for myself to “be.”

I can ask myself essential questions like, “What most needs my attention?”.

I can also observe my mental and emotional state in the present moment.

It is important to understand where I am in the present moment, as I am the co-creator of my current moment experience.

Taking time to” be” assist in creating a fertile ground for doing.

In close, this week, I encourage you to balance time doing with time being.

Recognize that both have value.
