Are you feeling frustrated, embarrassed, or angry that your life isn’t where you think it should be?

The next time you hear that inner voice telling you that you are not enough, stop, and search within. Gently note where you feeling this emotion. A common sensation is tightness in the throat or belly. Then, invite yourself to breathe out and release that tightness, along with the thoughts associated with it. When you can no longer breathe out, breathe in, and imagine cool, crisp, light-filled air, and invite a change of mindset.

Be with yourself lovingly and ask yourself, “What do I need to help me let go of this toxic thought?” Listen and allow yourself to fulfill your needs. For instance, maybe you need to feel at peace. Then, ask yourself how you can achieve that sense of peace? Get up and take a quick walk outside or down the hall.

Then allow yourself to feel thankful for everything you DO have rather than what you lack. Or simply choose peace in that moment. Whatever it may be, recognize that you are enough, you can respond to your needs here and now, and make the conscious choice to start choosing your thoughts and emotions in the present moment.

Let go of the need to compare, and embrace your uniqueness. Recognize that you are doing the best you can. It is from this mindset where you will be able to move forward to a better feeling, better thoughts, and a better version of yourself, which, in turn, helps you live the life of your choosing.
