Have you ever noticed yourself replaying an experience over and over in your head? Negatively thinking, “I should have said this or done that.” Or asking, “Why did I do that, what was I thinking?” Rumination creates negativity and a toxic mindset which can lead to anxiety and depression. Often, we do not realize this over-thinking process is occurring it is almost as if it were an automatic response.
I encourage you to foster living fully aware in the present moment. Furthermore, as you notice the here and now do so without judgment, see it for what it is with acceptance and invite yourself to be kind toward yourself. Try to practice and incorporate a different go-to pattern one of no judgment, no reaction, and no holding on.
You can do this by checking in and asking yourself what is occurring right now? Consider what you see, hear, smell and touch in the present moment with focused awareness. Initially, this new practice may feel uncomfortable. If you stay with this open observance and notice the relationship you have to these thoughts, your perception will begin to change. You will learn to separate yourself from the negativity and toxicity of the negative thought pattern.
Learning to be mindfully aware assists you in being the master of your emotions and thoughts. Choose to be at peace in the present moment.
Accepting the here and now,
