I invite you to free yourself from re-living the continual suffering of the past and choose to be in the present moment. No matter how potent the past might have been open yourself to self-awareness of when you choose the emotions and pain of the past to consume the present. Consciously select a relaxed state of awareness and take in a scene in nature, the sights, sounds and smells like your backyard or a walking path.
Another way to change your perception of the present is a meditation that will help you pause and connect to breath, connect to the present, and possibly repeat a mantra. This relaxation allows you to “switch off” your habitual thoughts and allow an expansive view and personal insight to enter your consciousness. I have found such action will help you find peace, and understanding of Self as well as freedom from past pain.
