One of the principles of living life with mindfulness is learning to live each moment fully aware but attached to none of it. Now that might sound pretty boring and unrealistic to you. On the contrary, learning to live life fully present experiencing each moment as it is, taking it all in, without the emotional attachment actually allows that moment to be free of cloudiness. When I say, “cloudiness,” I mean emotions, programming and beliefs bringing things from the past into the present like old hurts and old judgment. Clarity comes from placing distance from you and the experience so you can see all sides of the situation from a higher perspective.
Here are some affirmations to support seeing from that perspective:
I take in all the experiences in life one moment at a time, but I do so with the mindset of a silent witness to my own life experience.
I cut all cords of attachment and allow each moment of that experience to stand on its own.
My journey is simply how I choose to show up; I can only journey for myself and no one else.
