How to Release Anger or Hurt

Jun 15, 2023

A dear friend once told me if we look at those who have hurt us as a person who is broken it can help us to feel more love and compassion towards that individual. Those words resonated deeply with me.

When I say, “broken,” what do I mean? Think of an appliance that isn’t working properly, not performing its function. It cannot be resold or given away; it has no useful value, and we discard it. No, I’m not suggesting that you throw people away. However, I am asking that you look at the negative feelings that you are experiencing toward someone as you would a broken appliance. Discard the feelings as they no longer serve a purpose for you.

Choose to release the negative emotions and judgment toward those who have hurt you and decide to see them as broken. By living mindfully aware and releasing those negative feelings and harsh judgments we free ourselves to opportunity for more peace and happiness.

Living mindfully,
