Take a Moment

finding calm amidst hectic times

This time of year is a bit hectic for everyone; all for different reasons.  Whether it is year-end in business or celebration of the Holidays we all feel this sense of hurriedness.

If you feel sucked into this sensation, take a moment, rest your eyes either closed or pick a focal point to gently fixate your eyes on, connect to your breath, and gently tell the mind and body to bring a sense of calm through your body.  You can engage your imagination by painting a serene image in your mind like a beautiful still pond on a crisp winter’s morning.  Then say the following affirmations:

I honor this breath I breathe with gratitude in my heart, full attention in my mind, and peaceful outward existence.

I choose to observe the world around me as simply a movie I am watching in full awareness.  Taking it all in but attached to none of it. 

By choosing to experience a state of peace and calm mentally, I in turn bring clarity and purpose in each moment lived.
